Citrus Sesame Sword Fish, Asian Broccoli Slaw, and Brown Rice

Print

I’ve been told by my family that I cook too many Asian meals. I refuse to agree! And thankfully so because this is not only a very healthy flavorful meal, but one that is a breeze to get on the table. The marinade is full of flavor and is great with this type of fish. But, if you can’t find swordfish, or would rather use something else, try tuna or red snapper. The slaw is a perfect compliment to the fish. Crunchy, light, and a little tangy. We loved it!

We LOVED this recipe – We made brown jasmine rice in a steamer with boullion and chunks of garlic- it had a nice flavor, but did not add to the dish- so we omitted it from our meal. The asian salad was much more beautiful and tasty. I made minor additions of raw slivered almonds, and some crunchy asian noodles for around the edges. Served on a white rectangular plate, I put a healthy portion of salad as a bed, put the swordfish on top with chunked pineapples, (which we cooked on the grill in a grilling basket). Fanned slices of grilled whole wheat baguette on the side made for lovely presentation. (There was plenty of marinade for our 2 swordfish steaks, so the bit I set aside for the grilling process I instead placed in a gravy bowl for additional sauce at the table. If you do serve rice, this would be a lovely sauce for it.) My husband has been in the restaurant business his whole life, and to impress him takes a lot. He said this meal was “company worthy”. Thank you!
